Ventilation Coordinator (V/O) - Grosvenor Mine
As the Ventilation Coordinator reporting to the Ventilation & Gas Superintendent, you will hold the statutory competence as the Ventilation Officer and be responsible for the management and control of the underground mine ventilation. This position is a permanent, full-time position and operates back to back on an 8/6 dayshift only rotating roster.
As a specialist, technical advisor to the Statutory Mine Manager, you will provide strategic technology and short to medium term mine development advice in order to optimise the value of the mine in terms of ventilation. You will identify and resolve issues in your area and ensure hazard identification and risk assessment principles are firmly applied and all ventilation matters are cognisant to legislation and the site’s SHMS and SOPs. You will be involved with the planning, implementation and monitoring of system effectiveness against legislative and corporate requirements in order to ensure a safe underground working environment.
To be successful in this role, you will hold formal qualifications as a Ventilation Officer (VO) in QLD. It is also desired that hold tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering (or related), however not essential. You will also have demonstrated experience in an underground coal mining operation as well as specialist knowledge in ventilation. You will have a track record in developing continuous improvement ideas and will be able to set clear direction and priorities. Your ability to think outside the square and develop innovative solutions to complex problems as well as your ability to influence and build relationships throughout the site will be key to your success in the role.
This role is based in Moranbah on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster.
