Processing Technical Specialist – Brisbane Corporate Office
The purpose of Group Processing is to realize the full potential of Anglo American’s resource endowment through the synergistic optimization of processing plants within the integrated value chain. The central processing function is accountable for thought leadership in the field of processing, process optimization and technical specialization in the various unit processes across the business, to maximize the potential of the endowment and capital deployed.
As the Technical Specialist – Metallurgical Coal, you will be accountable for providing specialist technical input to the Met Coal operations, processes optimization projects, technology deployment and to support the Brisbane Corporate Office functional team.
You will Select and apply metallurgical tools and techniques in support of the coal handling and processing plants, and provides technical support to solve complex problems, implement research proposals, manage
s routine research projects, and oversee testing, analysis and interpretation.
Additionally, you will apply process design and improvement methodologies to drive efficiencies and solve technical and operational problems by applying project management techniques to effectively manage project activities and assist in tracking progress.
You will possess proven and demonstrable experience in operating and providing technical support to CHPP plants at a senior level and be familiar with process analysis and process modelling software, including statistical data analysis, mass balancing and process modelling.
You will be degree qualified (Bachelors / Honours degree or equivalent) in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering. A postgraduate qualification (Masters / Doctoral degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline will be highly regarded.
