Environmental Officer – Capcoal Surface Operations
The Environmental Officer supports all aspects of the environment function for the operation, while providing timely guidance and service to operational personnel to ensure delivery of the mine's performance targets and compliance to corporate and legislative requirements.
Your responsibilities will include the development and implementation of procedures, management plans and systems to improve environmental performance and participating in the monitoring, analysis and reporting on programs for land, vegetation, cultural heritage, water and waste.
Tertiary qualifications in an environmental discipline are required with knowledge of environmental issues relevant to the coal mining industry highly regarded. Experience with contractor management will also be beneficial to your application. Experience in understanding, interpreting and analysing relevant environmental data is key to this role and familiarity with Environmental Risk Management, Controls and Environmental Management Systems will also be an advantage.
This role is a Monday to Friday Roster; with subsidised housing is available in Middlemount.
